<h1>Government Exempts Certain Tobacco Products from Excise Duty Under Central Excise Rules and Additional Duties Act</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise (Goods of Special Importance) Act, 1957, exempts certain tobacco products from excise duty. The exempted products include cigars and cheroots under sub-headings 2402.22 and 2402.23, cigarillos under sub-headings 2403.21 and 2403.22, and hookah tobacco under sub-heading 2404.21, as per the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985.
