of <h1>Plastic Strips for Weaving Exempted from Excise Duty Over Rs. 10/kg Under Rule 8(1), Central Excise Rules 1944.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under rule 8(1) of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has issued Notification No. 134/86-C.E. dated March 1, 1986. This notification exempts plastic strips, classified under heading No. 39.20 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, intended for weaving fabrics or sacks, from the excise duty specified in the Schedule. The exemption applies to the extent that the duty exceeds Rs. 10 per kilogram.
