of <h1>Director-General of Central Economic Intelligence Bureau Appointed as Central Excise Officer with Collector Powers Across India</h1> Notification No. 254/86-C.E. dated April 14, 1986, issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, appoints the Director-General of the Central Economic Intelligence Bureau as a Central Excise Officer. This appointment grants the Director-General the powers of a Collector of Central Excise, applicable across the entire territory of India. These powers are conferred under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and the Central Excise Rules, 1944.
