of <h1>Amendment Alters Copper Products Notification; New Rules for Shells and Blanks in Pipe Manufacturing Under Chapter X</h1> The Central Government issued an amendment to a previous notification concerning copper, copper products, and waste and scrap of copper under the Central Excise Tariff. This amendment, effective from June 18, 1986, modifies the entries in the table of Notification No. 173/84 dated August 1, 1984. Specifically, it replaces the existing entry for S. No. 8 with new provisions related to shells and blanks for pipes and tubes. These goods, when used in manufacturing copper pipes and tubes exempted under S. No. 6 or 7, must follow the procedure specified in Chapter X of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, if used outside the production factory.
