These officers are granted the same powers as Central Excise Officers across India. The notification specifies the equivalence of ranks between the two departments: Deputy Director General as Collector, Assistant Director General as Deputy Collector, Senior Technical Officer as Assistant Collector, and Intelligence Officer as Inspector.
