Appointment of Central Excise Officer enables exercise of Collector powers for nationwide investigation and adjudication as assigned. Director of Publications (Customs and Central Excise) is appointed as a Central Excise Officer and vested with the powers of a Collector of Central Excise throughout India for the purposes of investigation and adjudication of cases assigned to him by the Central Board of Excise and Customs.
