of <h1>Central Government Amends Excise Rules: Changes in Classification of Man-Made Fibres Under Rule 8(1) Effective December 31, 1986.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under rule 8(1) of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has issued an amendment to the notification No. 44/80-Central Excises dated April 24, 1980. This amendment involves changes in the classification of man-made fibres and tops under the Central Excise Tariff. Specifically, the sub-heading numbers '5503.11, 5503.12 or 5503.19' are replaced with '5401.10 or 5401.20 or heading No. 55.03' in clause (a) of the proviso. This modification is effective from December 31, 1986, as per Notification No. 476/86-C.E.
