of <h1>Vulcanised Rubber Belts Get Excise Duty Relief Over 30% Under Rule 8 of Central Excise Rules, 1944</h1> The Central Government, under sub-rule (1) of rule 8 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has issued an exemption for conveyor or transmission belts or belting made of vulcanised rubber. These items, classified under sub-heading No. 4010.90 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, are exempted from excise duty exceeding 30 percent ad valorem. This exemption is detailed in Notification No. 46/87-C.E., dated March 1, 1987, and aims to reduce the excise duty burden on these specific products.
