of <h1>Central Excise Rules Amended: New Jurisdiction Areas Designated Under Rule 2, Including Parts of Greater Bombay and Economic Zones.</h1> The Central Government has issued the Central Excise (Fifth Amendment) Rules, 1987, under the authority of Section 37 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. Effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, the amendment modifies Rule 2 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944. Specifically, it updates sub-clause (A) of clause (ii) to designate certain areas, including specific municipal wards in Greater Bombay, Maharashtra, and areas in the Continental Shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone of India, as under the jurisdiction of the Collector of Central Excise, Bombay-I.
