<h1>Central Govt Amends Notification No. 147/84-C.E. Under Rule 8(1), Adding New Drug Intermediates to Exemption List</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of Rule 8(1) of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has amended Notification No. 147/84-C.E., dated June 18, 1984, concerning specified drug intermediates. The amendment, effective from March 1, 1988, adds several new entries to the schedule of exempted items. These include various chemical compounds such as 4-Cyanopyridine, Isonicotinic acid, Thiosemicarbazide, and others, extending the list to include Serial Nos. 56 to 73. This amendment aims to update the list of drug intermediates eligible for exemptions under the Central Excise regulations.
