of <h1>Hand Tools in Chapter 82 Exempt from Excise Duty Over 10% Under Notification No. 108/88-C.E., Central Excise Rules 1944.</h1> Notification No. 108/88-C.E., dated March 1, 1988, issued under the Central Excise Rules, 1944, exempts specified hand tools in Chapter 82 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, from excise duty exceeding ten percent ad valorem. The specified tools include hand saws, saw blades, files, pliers, metal cutting shears, spanners, wrenches, and other hand tools like blow lamps and vices. Tools that combine two or more of these categories in sets are also covered under this exemption.
