of <h1>Central Government amends Notification No. 75/87-C.E.; exemption rule revised for machinery components under Central Excise Rules.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 75/87-C.E., dated March 1, 1987, under the Central Excise Rules, 1944. This amendment, effective from May 3, 1988, revises paragraph 5 of the original notification. The new proviso specifies that the exemption does not apply to goods that are component parts of machinery, equipment, or appliances cleared from a factory for use as original equipment in manufacturing the said machinery or equipment. The procedure outlined in Chapter X of the Central Excise Rules must be followed for such goods.
