of <h1>Central Govt Amends Excise Rules: New Duty on Gramophone Records, Omits Certain Entries Under Notifications</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under rule 8(1) of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has amended Notifications No. 68/86-C.E. and 160/86-C.E. Notification No. 186/88-C.E., dated May 13, 1988, specifies these amendments. For Notification No. 68/86-C.E., a new entry for gramophone records, known as 'L.P.' and 'E.P.,' with a 15% ad valorem duty, is added after Sl. No. 10, and Sl. No. 12 is omitted. For Notification No. 160/86-C.E., Sl. No. 8 and its related entries are omitted.
