of <h1>Excise Duty Rate Hiked from 11% to 18% for Specified Goods under Amended Notification No. 180/88-C.E.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 180/88-C.E. dated May 13, 1988, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. This amendment, issued through Notification No. 241/88-C.E. dated August 9, 1988, modifies the excise duty rate specified in the Table annexed to the original notification. Specifically, for serial number 9 in column 4, the duty rate is changed from '11%' to '18%.' This adjustment is made under the authority of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, in the interest of public welfare.
