Rescission of central excise notification: prior exemption notification revoked under statutory power in public interest. The Central Government, exercising the power conferred by sub section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, rescinds Notification No. 463/86-C.E., dated 9th December 1986, by issuing Notification No. 258/88-C.E., dated 30th September 1988, on the ground that such rescission is necessary in the public interest.
