of <h1>Government Updates Duty Rates on Railway Rolling Stock Under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944: Details Inside.</h1> The Central Government, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, amended a previous notification to update the effective rates of duty on specified railway rolling stock items. The revised rates include Rs. 3,80,000 for each complete unit of three-car DCEMU coaches, Rs. 1,18,000 for broad gauge second class coaches, Rs. 68,000 for metre gauge second class coaches, Rs. 24,000 for bogie-open-eight-wheeler wagons, Rs. 35,000 for eight-wheeler covered wagons, Rs. 20,000 for four-wheeler tank-wagons, and Rs. 40,000 for eight-wheeler tank-wagons. These changes are deemed necessary in the public interest.
