<h1>Excise Duty Changes on TV Receivers: Revised Rates for Monochrome and Non-Monochrome Models Under Central Excises Act</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 87/89-C.E., issued under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, to revise excise duties on specific television receivers. The amendments replace S. Nos. 15, 16, and 17 in the original notification with new entries. Monochrome television receivers with screen sizes not exceeding 15 cm are subject to a duty of 200 rupees per set, while those exceeding 36 cm incur a duty of 300 rupees per set. Monochrome TVs between 15 cm and 36 cm are exempt. Non-monochrome TVs up to 36 cm have duties of 1500 rupees without remote control and 1750 rupees with remote control.
