of <h1>Central Government Amends Excise Notification for Certification, Extends Equipment Usage Verification Timeline Under Salt Act, 1944</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 263/87-C.E. under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, to include additional authorities for certification and to modify the conditions for exemption. The amendment allows the 'Chairman or Member-Secretary of the Programme Management Board or the Director of Management Services, Defence Research and Development Laboratory' to certify equipment usage. It also revises the requirement for manufacturers to produce a certificate within five months, or an extended period approved by the Assistant Collector, confirming the use of equipment for the specified systems and sub-systems of the Integrated Guided Missiles.
