of <h1>Amendment to Aluminium Tariff Rates: 20% Plus Rs. 2500/Tonne for Wire-Rods; 35% for Bars and Rods</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 69/89-C.E. concerning aluminium and related articles under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, effective from October 16, 1989. The amendment involves changes in the tariff rates for specific aluminium products. For wire-rods of aluminium, wrought, and aluminium wire with a maximum cross-sectional dimension exceeding 6 mm, the new rate is 20% plus Rs. 2500 per tonne. For bars and other rods of aluminium, wrought, the rate is set at 35%. These amendments are made in the public interest under the Central Excise regulations.
