Amending certain notifications so as to, inter-alia, - (i) prescribe effective rate of basic excise duty for PVC paste grade; (ii) prescribe a basic excise duty of 30% ad valorem for polystyrene; (iii) prescribe a basic excise duty of 30% on specified floor coverings; (iv) prescribing effective rate - 30/90 - Central Excise - Tariff

Excise Duty Changes: 30% for PVC, Polystyrene; Rs. 20,000 per Tonne for Polyurethane Waste; 15% for Others

The notification amends existing excise duty regulations to prescribe new rates for various goods. It sets a 30% ad valorem excise duty for PVC paste grade, polystyrene, and specified floor coverings. Amendments also include changes to duty rates for waste and parings of polyurethane foam, increasing the duty from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 per tonne for certain goods, and specifying a 15% ad valorem duty for others. Additionally, it introduces a limit on the clearance quantity for flexible polyurethane foam, capping it at 10% of the previous year's production.
