of <h1>Amendment to Exempt Kraft Paper for Packing Horticultural Produce under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944</h1> Notification No. 44/90, dated March 20, 1990, amends Notification No. 2/87 to fully exempt kraft paper used for packing all horticultural produce by specified State Government units. This amendment is made under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, in the public interest. The changes include substituting 'horticultural produce' for 'apples' in the notification's opening paragraph and condition (3). Additionally, condition (1) is revised to authorize clearances for manufacturers of cartons as approved by the Managing Director or an equivalent officer in the State Government's Horticultural Produce Marketing and/or Processing Corporation.
