<h1>Jute Yarn and Products Exempt from Excise Duty Under Notification No. 51/90-C.E. for Specific Manufacturing Uses</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 51/90-C.E., dated March 20, 1990, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, exempting jute yarn and related products from excise duty. This exemption applies when these materials are used in the manufacture of jute blankets, mats, carpets, felt, and various jute fabrics, provided they contain more than fifty percent by weight of jute fiber or yarn. The exemption is applicable to goods classified under Chapters 53, 56, 57, or 63 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, and is deemed necessary in the public interest.
