of <h1>Central Government amends Notification No. 217/86-C.E., clarifying exemptions for plastic fabric bags or sacks under Central Excises Act.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 217/86-C.E. under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, to further clarify exemptions in the public interest. The changes include the removal of the word 'or' at the end of clause (iii), the substitution of 'gases' with 'gases; or' in clause (iv), and the addition of a new clause (v). This new clause specifies that bags or sacks made from fabric woven from plastic strips or tapes, whether coated or laminated, are included under the exemptions.
