Government Exempts Fixed Vegetable Oils from Excise Duty under Notification No. 17/91-C.E.; Supersedes Previous 1986 Notification.

The Central Government, under the authority of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has issued Notification No. 17/91-C.E. dated 25th July 1991, exempting fixed vegetable oils classified under sub-heading No. 1503.10 from the entire excise duty as specified in the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985. This notification supersedes the previous Notification No. 114/86-Central Excises dated 1st March 1986, and is enacted in the public interest to facilitate this exemption.
