of <h1>Government Grants Excise Duty Exemption for Solid Fuel Briquettes from Agricultural Wastes under Section 5A of Central Excises Act</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has issued Notification No. 26/91-C.E., dated 25-7-1991, granting an exemption from excise duty for solid fuel briquettes made from agricultural wastes. This exemption is applied to the entire duty of excise that would otherwise be levied under section 3 of the Act, with the decision being made in the public interest.
