Central Government Updates Excise Notification to Include New Pharmaceutical Ingredients Under Miscellaneous Exemptions

The Central Government has amended Notification No. 30/88-C.E. under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, as per Notification No. 37/91-C.E., dated July 25, 1991. This amendment, deemed necessary in the public interest, adds new entries to the annexure of the original notification. The added entries include Carbamazepine, Primidone, Phenobarbitone, Phenytoin, and Sodium Valproate or Valproic Acid, enhancing the list of items covered under miscellaneous exemptions in the Central Excise Tariff.
