of <h1>Central Government amends excise notifications for public interest; changes include omission and new ad valorem rates.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification Nos. 187/72-C.E., 10/89-C.E., and 12/90-C.E. under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, to serve public interest. For Notification No. 187/72-C.E., entries at Sl. Nos. 2 and 3 are omitted. In Notification No. 10/89-C.E., the phrase 'all goods, except malt' is changed to 'all goods.' Notification No. 12/90-C.E. is updated by adding new entries after Sl. No. 8, specifying a 15% ad valorem rate for certain goods and a nil rate for others.
