of <h1>Amendment to 1988 Notification: Rigid Foams Included, Excludes Insulated Ware Under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944.</h1> The Central Government issued an amendment to the notification No. 54/88-Central Excises dated March 1, 1988, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. The amendment, effective March 1, 1992, modifies the entry for S. No. 5 in the notification's table to include 'Rigid polyurethane foam, rigid phenolic foam, and goods thereof.' Additionally, a proviso is added stating that the notification does not apply to insulated ware, specifically multiwalled or multilayered articles intended for thermal insulation, classified under heading Nos. 39.23 and 39.24.
