Excise exemption for ceramic water filter candles removes duty under central excise provisions, enabling duty free manufacture and supply. The Central Government, invoking powers under the Central Excises and Salt Act, exempts ceramic candles for water filters falling under sub heading No. 6911.00 of the Central Excise Tariff Schedule from the whole of the excise duty leviable thereon, the exemption being made as necessary in the public interest.
