of <h1>Amendment to Notification No. 21/2002-Customs: Customs Duty Exemption for Drinking Water Supply Projects Under S. No. 401A</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 21/2002-Customs, dated March 1, 2002, under the Customs Act, 1962. Effective September 6, 2002, the amendment introduces a new entry, S. No. 401A, exempting customs duties for Drinking Water Supply Projects aimed at providing water for human or animal consumption. This exemption covers plants for desalination, demineralization, or purification of water, excluding those for industrial use. This update is in the public interest to facilitate access to clean water. The amendment was issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
