of <h1>Customs Commissioner Appointed as Adjudicating Authority for Show Cause Notice under Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs has appointed the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive) at the Custom House in Amritsar as the common adjudicating authority. This appointment is made under the powers conferred by the Customs Act, 1962, to handle matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company and others by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. The Commissioner will exercise powers and duties of the Commissioners of Customs at Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House, Maharashtra, and the Inland Container Depot, New Delhi, for this adjudication.
