of <h1>Amendments to Excise Notifications: Removed 'or chindies' & Changed Duty Rate from 60 to 100 per Sq Meter</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification Nos. 274/86-C.E. and 52/90-C.E., as per Notification No. 33/93-C.E. dated February 28, 1993, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957. The amendment to Notification No. 274/86-C.E. involves omitting the words 'or chindies' from the proviso. For Notification No. 52/90-C.E., the amendment changes the rate from 'rupees sixty per square metre' to 'rupees one hundred per square metre.' These amendments are enacted in the public interest.
