of <h1>Central Government amends excise duty notifications to update references, effective April 1, 1993, for paper and cement industries.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification Nos. 138/86-C.E and 24/91-C.E under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, effective from April 1, 1993. For Notification No. 138/86-C.E, the amendment involves substituting the reference to Notification No. 175/86-C.E with an inclusion of Notification No. 1/93-C.E. Similarly, for Notification No. 24/91-C.E, the same substitution applies. These changes are made in the interest of public welfare and reflect updates to the excise duty regulations concerning paper, paperboard, and cement.
