of <h1>New Excise Duty Exemption: Machinery for Material Treatment by Cooling Under Heading 84.19 Exempt Beyond 15% Ad Valorem</h1> The Central Government, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has issued Notification No. 83/93-C.E. dated April 23, 1993, exempting machinery, plant, or laboratory equipment used for material treatment by condensing or cooling, classified under Heading No. 84.19 of the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985, from excise duty beyond 15% ad valorem. This exemption does not apply to refrigerating and air-conditioning machinery and their parts.
