of <h1>Amendment to Excise Notification: Synthetic Yarn and Thread Now Include Polypropylene & Polybutylene Terephthalate</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 31/93-CE, dated February 28, 1993, under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944. This amendment pertains to fibres, yarns, and fabrics classified under Chapters 50 to 56. Specifically, in the notification's table, the description for synthetic filament yarn and sewing thread has been updated. The previous exclusion of polyamides and polyester now includes polypropylene and polybutylene terephthalate as well. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest and is effective as of July 16, 1993.
