of <h1>Government Amends Central Excise Notifications; Alters Serial Numbers and Ad Valorem Rates Under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944.</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 44/94-C.E. dated March 1, 1994, amending several previous Central Excise notifications from 1988. For Notification No. 180/88-C.E., specific serial numbers and related entries are omitted, and some are renumbered, with a substitution in wording. Notification No. 182/88-C.E. sees the omission of certain serial numbers and entries. Similarly, Notification No. 184/88-C.E. omits several serial numbers and entries. For Notification No. 223/88-C.E., amendments include changing the ad valorem rate for specific serial numbers to 10% and 15%. These changes are made under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944.
