of <h1>Central Government Amends Excise Notifications Under Section 5A of Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 for Public Interest.</h1> The Central Government, under section 5A of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, has amended Notifications No. 73/90-C.E., No. 81/90-C.E., No. 83/90-C.E., and No. 90/93-C.E. through Notification No. 56/94-C.E. dated March 1, 1994. Changes include the omission of certain words and figures in Notification No. 73/90 and additions to its table, the removal of specific entries in Notification No. 81/90, alterations in Notification No. 83/90 regarding ad valorem rates, and a substitution of references in Notification No. 90/93. These amendments are deemed necessary in the public interest.
