of <h1>Central Government Rescinds Cigarette Excise Tariff Notification 87/92; New Policy Effective March 12, 1994.</h1> The Central Government, exercising its authority under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and the Additional Duties of Excise Act, 1957, has rescinded Notification No. 87/92-Central Excises, dated October 29, 1992. This decision, effective from March 12, 1994, was made in the public interest and pertains to the excise tariff on cigarettes. The rescission is formalized through Notification No. 68/94-Central Excises.
