of <h1>Government Amends SSI Exemption, Withdraws DGTD Unit Restrictions; Specifies Conditions Based on Previous Year's Clearances</h1> The Central Government has amended the SSI Exemption Notification No. 1/93-C.E., dated February 28, 1993, by withdrawing restrictions on DGTD units. The amendment, effective from August 31, 1994, modifies paragraph 3 to specify that the exemption does not apply if the total value of clearances of all excisable goods for home consumption by a manufacturer from one or more factories, or from any factory by one or more manufacturers, exceeded 200 lakh rupees in the previous financial year. Additionally, the third proviso in paragraph 4 has been omitted.
