of <h1>1995 Notification Exempts Waste and Scrap from Excise Duty Under Central Excises and Salt Act.</h1> Notification No. 23/95-C.E., dated March 16, 1995, issued under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, exempts waste, parings, and scrap from excise duty. This exemption applies to materials arising during the manufacture of excisable goods that are either exempt from excise duty or subject to a 'Nil' rate of duty, as specified in the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985. The Central Government has deemed this exemption necessary in the public interest.
