of <h1>Amendment to Central Excise Notification Updates Tariff Classification for Cassette Shells to '39' for Public Interest.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 4/97-Central Excise dated March 1, 1997, under the Central Excise Act, 1944. This amendment, issued through Notification No. 68/97-C.E. dated December 1, 1997, pertains to the tariff classification of cassette shells for audio cassettes. In the notification's table, the entry in column (2) against Serial No. 190 is updated to '39.' This change is made in the public interest under the authority granted by the Central Excise Act.
