of <h1>Authority Shift: Bombay Collector Gains Powers of Pune Office Under Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 via Notification 49/90-C.E.</h1> The Central Board of Excise and Customs, under the authority of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944, and Central Excise Rules, 1944, has vested the Collector of Central Excise (Appeals) in Bombay with the powers of the Collector of Central Excise (Appeals) in Pune. This transfer of authority is formalized in Notification No. 49/90-C.E. (N.T.), dated November 23, 1990, allowing the Bombay office to exercise all powers previously held by the Pune office under the specified act and rules.
