Central Government updates rules for warehouse transfers, adding new locations in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.
The Central Government, under sub-rule (2) of rule 49 and rule 139 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, has amended a prior notification from November 28, 1967, concerning the removal of goods between warehouses. The amendment adds several locations to the list of recognized warehousing sites: Sidhpur in Gujarat; Salwas and Sanganer in Rajasthan; Rewari and Bhauli in Haryana; and Sangrur and Bhatinda in Punjab. This adjustment aims to streamline the process of transferring goods between these specified warehouses under the Central Excise framework.
