of <h1>Central Government Amends Central Excise Rules to Include Aluminium Circles in Sections 96ZA to 96ZE Under Excise Act 1944.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944, has issued the Fourth Amendment to the Central Excise Rules, 1997, effective from June 1, 1997. This amendment modifies Chapter V of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, by replacing references to 'stainless steel pattis/pattas' with 'stainless steel pattis or pattas, or aluminium circles' in sections E-VI, rule 96ZA, rule 96ZB, and rules 96ZC, 96ZD, and 96ZE. This change reflects the inclusion of aluminium circles under Chapter 76 alongside stainless steel pattis or pattas under Chapter 72.
