of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Licence Valid for Importing Inputs for Export Products Per Updated Handbook Procedures</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 48/99-Customs, dated April 29, 1999, under the Customs Act, 1962. The amendment modifies condition (i) to specify that the licence is now valid for importing any input necessary for manufacturing an export product, as specified in the Hand Book of Procedure Volume II of the Export and Import Policy. This replaces the previous requirement that inputs be covered under the standard input-output norms. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest and reflects updates to the Export and Import Policy.
