of <h1>Silambimangalam Shipyard Added to Designated Ports for Unloading Machinery and Exporting Vessels Under Customs Notification /2009</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has amended Notification No. 62/94-Customs (N.T.) dated November 21, 1994. This amendment, specified in Notification No. 09/2009-(N.T.) dated January 16, 2009, involves changes to the customs ports in Tamilnadu. Specifically, it adds Silambimangalam Shipyard to the list of designated ports for unloading machinery and equipment for construction and maintenance purposes. It also permits the import and export of cargo ships, barges, and similar vessels for repair, as well as the export of machinery and equipment used in the shipyard's construction and maintenance.
