Deeming of Special Economic Zone as Inland Container Depot confers customs status and regulatory character on the SEZ. Central Government appointed an effective date by notification under statutory authority by which the sector specific Special Economic Zone for Information Technology and IT enabled services at Ganjimutt, EPIP Industrial Area, Mangalore, proposed to be developed by M/s. Brigade Enterprises Private Limited, is deemed to be an Inland Container Depot for the purposes of the Customs Act, thereby conferring on the SEZ the customs status and regulatory character of an ICD.
