<h1>IRS Officer Appointed to Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property Under NDPS Act and 1989 Rules</h1> The Central Government appointed an officer of the Indian Revenue Service as a Member of the Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property, effective from January 30, 2009. This appointment was made under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and the Appellate Tribunal for Forfeited Property Rules, 1989. The individual will serve in this role until reaching the age of sixty-two or until further notice. The notification was issued by the Under Secretary, Victor James, on March 24, 2009, in New Delhi.
