Social Security Code jurisdiction notification appoints competent labour authorities across India for Chapter VI administration. Central Government notification appoints specified Assistant Labour Commissioners (Central) and Regional Labour Commissioners (Central) as competent authorities for the purposes of Chapter VI of the Code on Social Security, 2020 in relation to establishments for which the Central Government is the appropriate Government. The appointments are made under section 2(16) of the Code and are distributed by territorial jurisdiction, with officers mapped to the whole of India or to designated States, Union Territories, districts, or district clusters for administration of the Chapter VI functions.
