Prosecution sanction under the Code on Social Security is assigned to designated central labour authorities for covered establishments. The Central Government appoints specified labour authorities to grant sanction for prosecution of offences under Chapter V and Chapter VI of the Code on Social Security, 2020 for establishments where the Central Government is the appropriate Government. The designated authorities are the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) and the Additional Chief Labour Commissioner (Central), acting for the purpose of sanctioning prosecution under the Code.
